The annual P1 Group Charity Golf Tournament was held on September 13 at Drumm Farm Golf Club in Independence, Mo.
This year, as in 2013, the tournament proceeds will go to the Kevin Lane Scholarship in memory of Kevin Lane. Kevin was an Electrical Foreman at P1 Group for 26 years. The scholarship named for him will benefit students pursuing an engineering-related degree at the University of Kansas.
At the tournament, the golfers were encouraged to donate to the cause by taking part in pay-to-play challenges, including a putting contest and two contests in which participants tried to hit the green off of the tee. P1 Group also raised money by holding a raffle with prizes donated by some of our vendors.
In all, the tournament raised $3,938, which P1 Group matched, bringing the total raised to $7,876.
First place winners of the A-flight were Ricky Rohaus, Scott Duncan, Josh Short and Brock Hall with a score of 60 (This team also won the tourney in 2013, with a score of 61). Tony Suckiel won the putting contest, and RT Ryan and Magness Vanhoecke each won a “on the green” contest.
