P1 Group, Inc. held its annual charity golf tournament on September 14 at Drumm Farm Golf Course in Independence, Mo. The scramble format tournament yet again reached full capacity with 144 participants.
This year, all proceeds benefited the Kevin Lane Scholarship in memory of Kevin Lane. Kevin was an Electrical Foreman for 26 years. The Kevin Lane Scholarship will benefit students pursuing an engineering related degree at the University of Kansas.
Participants were encouraged to donate by taking part in several pay-to-play challenges, including a putting contest and multiple par 3 contests challenging participants to hit the green off the tee. P1 Group also raised money by holding a raffle with vendor-donated prizes.
Including P1’s initial investment of $5,000, the fundraising efforts from the tournament resulted in $13,580 that will provide scholarship opportunities in Kevin Lane’s name for many years to come.
First place winners of the A-flight included Ricky Rohaus, Scott Duncan, Josh Short and Brock Hall with a score of 61. Frank Murray won the putting contest, and Mitch Campbell and Duane Rose each won par 3 contests.
